Bishop J. L. Brown

Bishop Joseph L. Brown is a respected apostle, pastor, prophet, teacher, and leader. His ministry touches thousands throughout the United States and around the world.

Bishop J. L. Brown was born in Panama City, Florida to Mrs. Daisy Brown Harris and the late Elder Zed Brown (founder of the first Church of God in Tallahassee). He was reared in a Christian home and was influenced by the teachings of his mother and father, and also the teaching of his pastor, Elder M. B. Carr. He received Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 16. At this time he was called into ministry and accepted total dedication to the call in 1970. Since that time, he has been a very faithful and dedicated worker for the Lord. He worked as the assistant to the late Elder Owen Smith and received the benefit of his vast reservoir of wisdom.

Bishop Brown and his wife Dr. Edna Scott Brown were married on March 20, 1970. At the time, she was a graduate student in Guidance and Counseling at Florida A&M University. The Lord has blessed them with three daughters: Joedrecka, a medical doctor; Jodie, a chef; and Shayla, and three sons: Joseph II, an attorney; Johann; and Michael. They also have two daughters-in-law, Tiffanie and Monica and three grandchildren.

Bishop Brown was educated at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. He majored in Mathematics and minored in Computer Programming. He completed his studies at General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan with a degree in Marketing Management. Dr. Brown further studied at the Sales Analysis Institute in Chicago, Illinois, in Human Relations and Psychology at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. He also holds a Master of Divinity from the International Seminary, and a Doctor of Divinity from the International Bible Institute and Seminary of Orlando, Florida.

Bishop Brown is very versatile. He brings with him a varied reservoir of experience. A minister of Jesus Christ for over 40 years, presently he is the pastor of University Ministries International. He also serves as the Jurisdictional Bishop of the Southeast Region for the North American Outreach (NAO) Fellowship under the leadership of presiding prelate, Bishop Louis S. Spencer. Bishop Brown is also the Chief Apostle for Global Evangelistic Network. His ministry includes: pastoring, teaching, speaking engagements, seminars, conferences, deliverance, healing, miracles and releasing of the anointing in the lives of believers through impartation under the direction of the Holy Spirit. He specializes in identifying and developing gifts in the body of Christ through training.
